Wander through enchanted realms, where echoes of the past whisper in every corner. Our Boghossian Woman, both adventurer and muse, invites you to push open the doors and immerse yourself in the enchanting tales of Palace Voyages.

Our journey continues through the Middle East.

PERSEPOLIS

The legendary palace of Persepolis was uniquely spectacular both for its location and scale. Even today, the ruins bear witness to the imposing nature of the remaining raised platforms and staircases.

“...The steps rise in front of her, inviting her to scale their majesty. There was a gate here once, its grandeur and beauty equal to no other..."

Lapis Lotus

Our Lapis Lotus ring features a stylized interpretation of the flower carried by the figures on the many reliefs of Persepolis. The lotus itself represents rebirth and eternal existence in Mesopotamian mythology – its bloom is worked here in marquise diamonds, sapphire, turquoise, lapis lazuli and spessartite garnet.

GOLESTAN

In the heart of Tehran, the Golestan Palace was commenced in the 16th Century - a perfect example of traditional Kadjar architecture. Later elements were added throughout the late 19th Century, including the celebrated Hall of Mirrors. Our choice of this palace was driven by its rich tapestry of colours and intricate glasswork, inspiring us to craft pieces that reflect the mesmerizing play of light observed throughout its halls.

Mirror Maze

Amidst Golestan's dazzling interiors, our Boghossian Woman navigates an enchanting hall of colourful stained-glass panels. Bathed in the glow of rubies, emeralds, sapphires, turquoise, and white and yellow diamonds, she uncovers tales woven into each gemstone.

White Hall

Inspired by the palace's Hall of Mirrors, our White Hall pieces feature diamonds and mother of pearl, with rock crystal carved from behind, echoing the room’s exquisite glasswork.

AMARNA

The great city of Amarna was built under pharaoh Akhenaton in the 14th Century BC. Remains from the North Palace, intended for his wife Nefertiti, reveal a significant stylistic shift in Ancient Egyptian arts towards a more informal style and sense of freedom.

“...Gone are the blue reliefs, the mythical animals, replaced instead by abstract forms in which she perceives the leaves and stems of papyrus. A new empire has come into being, and with it, a new aesthetic…”

Queen’s Papyrus

Experience Amarna's cultural influence through our Queen’s Papyrus set, featuring diamonds, emeralds and green jadeite that echo the abstract, geometric papyrus motif and the long history of emeralds in jewellery, even used in Ancient Egypt.

Nile Flowers

Our Nile Flowers earrings evoke an abstract papyrus shape, featuring meticulously cut blue sapphires and diamonds, linking back to this same sense of creative audacity highly evident in the art of the Amarna period and its stylized frescoes.

RAINBOW RIAD

The Bahia Palace in Marrakesh spans an impressive eight hectares and stands as a testament to the finest Moroccan craftsmanship. Its highly ornate muqarnas and painted cedarwood ceilings are particularly notable for their intricate design and masterful use of colour.

Wheel of Colour

Wheel of Colour is a mesmerizing homage to the complexity of Bahia’s ceilings. The pieces feature a remarkable assemblage of mother-of-pearl in a unique cream tone, inlaid with pink and purple sapphires, tsavorites, demantoid garnets, lapis lazuli, turquoise, Paraibas, and yellow and white diamonds.

Mosaic Haven

The rich red of rubellite is the centrepiece choice for our Mosaic Haven earrings, inspired by the wooden fretwork of Bahia's courtyards. The pieces display highly complex techniques of latticework, playing with the idea of contrasting colours – the two layers feature green jadeite, pink opal and turquoise, superimposed with purple sapphires, yellow diamonds and spessartite garnets.
