RED FORTRESS
Perhaps one of the most celebrated examples of Islamic art and architecture in the world, the Alhambra (meaning red fort) stands above the Spanish city of Granada.
Seven Realms
Our ateliers crafted the Seven Realms necklace using a unique technique to set a degradé of white to yellow diamonds, inspired by the intricate wooden ceiling in the Hall of the Ambassadors. This design, said to represent a soul's journey through seven heavens to reach paradise, is reflected in the necklace's floating diamonds, each mounted with a single claw to echo the palace's geometric patterns.
AMBER ROOM
The Amber Room was originally installed in the Berlin City Palace. Russian It was later moved to the Catherine Palace near Saint Petersburg, using over five tonnes of amber. The original room disappeared after World War II, and a reconstructed version was completed in 2003.
The unusual history and materials of this space have inspired two contrasting interpretations of amber jewellery.
Golden Ember
Our Golden Ember set is crafted from antique amber beads in a very unique, rare, deep red tone. Adorned with an orange sapphire in its center and intricate carvings of carnelian, it embodies the essence of Baroque artistry.
Sunlit Wonder
The Sunlit Wonder earrings dazzle with white, orangy and yellow diamonds. Intricately arranged in a flexible mesh, the gems are meant to evoke the idea of moving light flickering across the volutes of the Amber Room, in a modern, asymmetrical design.
POTSDAM
Sanssouci, a Rococo-style palace built in the 1740s in Potsdam, served as a countryside retreat for the king and his courtiers, where they could enjoy music and nature in a "carefree" manner, as its French name suggests. Remarkably, all conversations within the palace were conducted in French.
"...She hears the music before the voices. Arpeggio notes of violin and cello, the delicate tinkling of a pianoforte. The voices whisper in rounded notes of French. As she approaches the open door, the melody becomes clearer..."
Pianoforte Melody
The Sanssouci music room and its Rococo flourishes are the initial inspiration for the Pianoforte Melody ensemble. Squared diamonds are worked into the necklace to give the impression of a folded fabric or cobweb, as if hanging from the gold structure like a trompe-l’œil. Intricate lines were engraved into the gold by highly specialized artisans to reflect the details of the ceiling.
PETIT CHATEAU
Among the most celebrated examples of neoclassical architecture, Marie Antoinette’s Petit Trianon stands as a beacon of elegant simplicity within Versailles' gardens.
"...In this place, she can be carefree, connecting with the emotions of youth. Nature is also present, whether in the gardens she sees through the window, or through the deceptively simple frescoes of the walls and ceiling. If she were to touch these flowers and leaves, would they come to life? ..."
Belvedere Beauty
Our Belvedere Beauty necklace is inspired by the delicate frescoes of the palace and its garden. A "ribbon" comprised of baguette diamonds mirrors the graceful motion of a bow while a flower basket is adorned with multicoloured diamonds.
Employing a signature of the Boghossian savoir-faire, the diamonds are inlaid within mother of pearl and arranged in layers using the innovative Kissing technique.
REGENCY RESIDENCE
Brighton Pavilion, a testament to Regency extravagance, captivates with its Indo-Islamic architecture. Originally a seaside retreat for the king, it remains an iconic symbol of cultural fusion and architectural brilliance in England.
Gleaming Foliage
Referencing the leaves at the centre of the famous chandeliers in the banqueting room, the Gleaming Foliage ensemble features mobile elements, with spectacular kite-shaped diamond drops and their delicate fringes quivering with the movements of the wearer.
"...There is a party in the palace tonight. She keeps close to the velvet draping across the walls, choosing to observe from afar. In a moment, she will dare to move forward. The light from the Flickering Chandelier will capture her face and the audience will turn to look and admire, spellbound, the gentle sway of the diamonds and sapphires at her neck and ears...
